The bodies were found Sunday after the pair missed a scheduled cheerleading competition. Officers initially performed a welfare check around 10:45 a.m. but left when there was no response, returning hours later following family concerns.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"496\" data-end=\"703\">The mother and daughter had traveled for the event. Utah Xtreme Cheer confirmed that pre-teen Addi Smith from Salt Lake City and her mother, Tawnia McGeehan, were missing and later announced Addi had died.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"705\" data-end=\"891\">Police said the mother, in her 30s, shot Addi late Saturday. A note was found in the hotel room, but its contents were not disclosed.
