Priscilla Pointer<\/span><\/span>, a veteran American stage, film, and television actress, died peacefully in her sleep at the age of 100. Her career spanned more than 80 years, beginning in theater and later expanding into television and film.<\/p>\n

She was widely recognized for portraying strong maternal characters, including roles in films such as Carrie<\/em> (1976), Looking for Mr. Goodbar<\/em> (1977), The Onion Field<\/em> (1979), Mommie Dearest<\/em> (1981), The Falcon and the Snowman<\/em> (1985), and Blue Velvet<\/em> (1986). She also appeared in the TV series Dallas<\/em> and frequently worked alongside her daughter, actress Amy Irving<\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n

Pointer co-founded the San Francisco Actor\u2019s Workshop and continued acting until the early 2000s, with her final TV appearance in Cold Case<\/em> (2006). She is survived by her three children.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n<\/div>\n
