A controversy erupted at the World\u2019s Strongest Woman competition after the winner, Jammie Booker<\/span><\/span> of the U.S., was later disqualified over claims she was born biologically male.<\/p>\n

The event in Arlington, Texas initially saw Booker win by one point over the UK\u2019s Andrea Thompson<\/span><\/span>. Thompson reacted angrily after the result, calling it unfair.<\/p>\n

The debate intensified when an older video surfaced in which Booker described herself as a transgender woman. Event organizers, Official Strongman Games<\/span><\/span>, said they were unaware of this before the competition and stated that athletes must compete in categories based on their sex recorded at birth.<\/p>\n
