Beloved ‘Dawson Creek’ Star’s Wife Shares GoFundMe As Family Struggles After Cancer Battle

James Van Der Beek, known for Dawson’s Creek and Varsity Blues, died at 48 after battling stage 3 colorectal cancer.

Following his death, his wife Kimberly Van Der Beek and their six children are facing financial uncertainty. A GoFundMe organized by friends says the family struggled with mounting medical costs during his illness and is now trying to keep their home and maintain stability for the children.

Van Der Beek was diagnosed in August 2023 and passed away on Feb. 11, surrounded by loved ones. The fundraiser, created to help with living and education expenses, has raised over $700,000 so far.
